USCID offers special programs for individuals enrolled full-time at the graduate or undergraduate level in a U.S. college or university program related to irrigation, drainage or flood control. Students involved in engineering, environmental sciences, social sciences, economics, water law, soil science and related disciplines are invited to join and participate in USCID activities.
Student Member annual dues of $20 are waived for the first year of membership. Additional information about USCID Membership is available. To join, simply complete the online application, selecting "Student Member -- First year free" from the Membership Category list.
The USCID/Summers Engineering Scholarship Fund was endowed by a generous contribution from the late Joseph B. Summers, founder of Summers Engineering, Inc., Hanford, California. Since the Fund was established in 1989, it has been supplemented annually by contributions from USCID Members.
The $1,000 Scholarship is awarded annually to an upper division undergraduate or master's degree students with a demonstrated interest in agricultural engineering, irrigation and drainage, agricultural water management. Only USCID Student Members are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
Applications for the 2017 Scholarship will be accepted until September 1, 2017.
The 2017 Scholarship will be presented during USCID's Conference on Irrigation and Drainage, to be held in Sacramento, California, on October 24-27.
